*Classroom donations of $10 are being collected and appreciated.
*Parent Communication Notebooks with Planners will be coming home each night.. The planner needs to be signed EVERY NIGHT. This is an important tool between school and home.
*Please put all money in the zipper pouch in binder.
Please label what the money is used for.
*Make sure you check your child's backpack every night for homework or assignments sent home. You must practice words and read the assigned stories to prevent your child from getting behind this year. Show your child listening to them read is important to you.
*Please practice tying shoes at home. Many children still do not know how to tie their shoes.
*Please let your child walk to class in the mornings by themselves. This promotes responsibility and makes them feel like a "big kid." If you need to speak to a teacher, please send a note requesting a conference.
*Snack Day-Wednesday-bring 75 cents for the snack machine or bring a snack from home.
*Two wonderful websites to practice reading skills are: www.starfall.com and www.soundcityreading.com. A great spelling website is www.spellingcity.com.

Practice writing numbers. Numbers written backwards will be counted wrong.

Comprehension story on Friday. Make sure you are reading the story each night and reviewing the sentences in the homework folder.
Your child will be expected to read part of the test by themselves . If the word was learned in Kindergarten or in a previous story, your child should know it. Teachers will only tell words we have not learned yet.

Backwards letters will be counted wrong. Words should be written with lowercase letters only (unless it is a Proper Noun).
If your child makes a 100 on Practice Test, they do not have to take the Final Test.
Practice test on Thursday. Final test on Friday.
